¨A trek through this area is an experience
not easily forgotten¨. Michael K.
The Choro Trail descends from the Andean mountains into the Bolivian
Amazon. It was once a route of communication between the mountains
and the Yungas of the cloud forest. Now it is a gringo trail but
the occasional solitary Indian we pass, seemingly lost from some
forgotten time, make it possible to imagine Incas traversing these
rocky paths. On this ancient path we tread a tireless rhythm,
the mountains retreating to the horizon, and the fecundity of
the cloud forest gradually enveloping us. I am overwhelmed when
continuously on the move. Crossing so many different terrains
and meeting so many people along the way involves a complete overload
of the senses. It is only when you have a moment spare to reflect
on all that your mind has absorbed that you can fully comprehend
the effect that your journey has had on you.
