¨ the area of Takesi is gifted with breath
taking scenic beauty, crystal clear lakes, ancient paved trails¨.
John S
The Takesi trail links the desert Altiplano and the Yungas, the
lush subtropical valleys covered with thick cloud forest, sitting
between the high Andes and the infinite green carpet of the Amazon
Basin. The trail, starting close to La Paz, follows sections of
pre-Columbian paved roads, and finishes more than 3,000m (9,000ft)
lower. You cross part of the Altiplano, hike along green canyons,
cross rivers and visit abandoned mines...all an adventure.
