Hiking Grades

Easy- Easy treks follow generally well-marked trails, require little navigational skill and only an average standard of physical fitness. Medium- Medium treks require more experience and better physical condition, and are therefore best attempted after you have completed a number of easy treks. More strenuous trails and well-marked, but exposed routes may be encountered. At times you may have to do your own route finding and/or navigation. Strenuous- Trekking involves 5-8 hours a day with elevation gains of 2000 feet or more a day at high altitudes. Trekkers need to train for the endurance required for consecutive days of walking.
